A Review Of Nutrisystem Food. How Does It Taste? What Are The Choices? Is it Hard To Prepare?

If you're researching the nutrisystem diet, chances are you'll want to know exactly what the food taste like because you'll be eating lots of it. With the nutriystem diet, you eat five times per day. The good news is this keeps you from getting as hungry as you might think and there are over 130 food options so even if you are extremely picky (like me), you are sure to find something that you like.

Convenience: One of the best things about this program is the foods are incredibly convenient. You usually chose a month's worth of meals and these are shipped right to your door. Although you're asked to add fruits, veggies and protein, most of the meals are grab and go and require less than five minutes to prepare.

Nutrisystem Breakfasts: For a low carb diet, the options are pretty generous here, including cereals (I like the NutriFrosted Crunch), muffins, scones, and blueberry pancakes. There are also various egg dishes. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. The large amount of variety, the taste, and portion sizes were much better than expected.

Nutrisystem Lunches: I have to disclose right off that I am not a fan of soups. I've tried the nutrisystem soups and they are fine and better than most, but I am not a soup eater so I don't eat these. What I do like though are the pasta dishes like the fettuccine and the tortellini. I am amazed that I can eat pasta on this low carb diet. The fudge graham bar snack is not too shabby either.

Dinner: Again, my favorites include the carb and comfort foods, like the pizza, ravioli, and macaroni and cheese. Surprisingly, I absolutely love the vegetarian chili and I am not a vegetarian. But, it is among the best chili I've ever eaten and I sometimes use it to make a mock burrito. The green pepper steak and the tacos are standouts as well.

Nutrisystem Snacks and Desserts: I admit it, this is my favorite part because I am a grazer at heart. As far as snacks go, the pretzels, sour cream and onion chips, and the nachos are incredibly good. For desserts, my favorites are the chocolate cake, the chocolate chip cookies, the fudge brownie, and the almond biscotti.

All in all, I am pleasantly surprised by and impressed with the food. The new advanced program has added fatty acids and fiber to the food to make it more filling, and overall I am not as hungry as I had feared. There are a few of the foods that I just can not eat (stroganoff beef and noodles, cream of broccoli soup), but these are generally foods I would not eat even if they were the full calorie version.

In terms of cost, if you buy a package and use coupons, you can generally get the cost of the nutriystem foods down to around $2 each.  (You can see examples of the best coupons at http://celebrity-diet-review.com/)
