If I had to pinpoint two of the Medifast products that I'm asked most about, this would be the shakes and the bars. I guess these are the two products that are most synonymous with this diet. Sometimes, people assume that this is all you eat on the diet. It really isn't. Yes, these items are the most popular, but they are by no means you're only choices.
Still, I'm often asked where you can buy them, how they taste, how much they cost, etc. In the following article, I'll discuss where you can get the Medifast shakes and bars and will also go over some general pricing.
Generally speaking, most people will not be able to go to their local supermarket and pick up the shakes and bars. I often hear from folks who have spent a lot of time walking up and down the diet or supplement section of their grocery store, pharmacy, or health food market and have still come up empty. I also occasionally hear from folks who want to know which doctors offer these products. (You don't need a prescription for Medifast.)
Although there are a few Medifast clinics scattered around the country, many people don't have easy access to these. To use myself as an example, I only have two clinics in my state and the closest one is hours away. So I, like most other people, order all of my food for this diet directly from the company's website. This is really the only place to get your foods straight from the source.
The company doesn't use middle men distributors which is why you don't find these products in the diet aisle of your local store. Occasionally, you can find someone selling their unused foods on third party sites, but I always worry about expiration dates and I'd rather deal directly with the company so that I know what I'm getting and who I am dealing with.
As far as pricing goes, the cost of the Medifast shakes and bars is going to depend on whether you buy them individually or as part of a package. (Many people will get them as part of a package which means that you have much more variety and options.) If you buy the bars individually, you can generally get a box of a box of 7 for around $16. However if you order them as part of a package and use coupons, the price is generally around $2 per meal, no matter what that meal is.
The price of the shakes vary in the same way. But generally speaking, if you are purchasing them individually, you can buy a box of 7 for around $15 or a box of 24 for around $64. Again, if you're using a package and coupons, this brings the cost of the item way down. As I said though, the shakes and bars are really only two of many choices. (You can see a sample medifast food list at http://easiest-diet.com/medifast-food-list/html)
You can be linked directly to the company to order Medifast shakes and bars (as well as see coupons that can be used for packages that include them) on Lindsey's Medifast Review Website which features recipes, a list of all of the foods (including the shakes,) videos, tips, coupons ($50 off or two weeks free), information and products related to success on this diet.
