You are allowed and encouraged to take a break from the diet for any two days during the week, so you will only need enough food to cover twenty days (five meals per day) and this is obviously going to cost less.  The price of the Nutrisystem Flex plan is only a little over $230 so this can allow you a very low cost, discounted way to try out and ease into the diet to see if it's for you.

Nutrisystem Coupons, Discounts, And Auto Delivery: The company varies it's promotions throughout the year.  Sometimes, they will offer as much as fourteen to twenty one days worth of free food which is worth a substantial amount of money.  Sometimes, they will offer you a monetary savings on your order.  Typically, the very biggest discount is offered with the auto ship or delivery option.  This is where you allow the company to automatically ship more food to you at the end of the month or when you would run out of food.  You can cancel this whenever you like, but the savings can really add up.  Often, they will give you $100 off simply for signing up for automatic delivery.  Obviously, this can be a substantial savings on the basic women's package that covers five meals per day for an entire month.  At about $300 this is only about $10 per day or $2 a meal, so it is already pretty reasonable, but taking another 1/3 off is pretty attractive too.

Additional Considerations: In addition to the food that the company provides, you do need to buy some groceries because you are asked to add in healthy, fresh side items with each meal.  I always keep the cost for this low by not buying extra food for me on top of what I buy for my family.  I do this by changing my family's snacks and stables to ones that are considered "safe" and healthy.  It doesn't hurt my kids to eat lower carb yogurt or to eat fruit instead of candy.  If I use common sense and consider my family's heath as well as mine, then I don't have to buy "special" foods for myself.
