Winter is a season where we hide our bodies under layer upon layer of clothing. Depending upon the severity of the season no one is likely to know what your body is going to look like until the spring thaw. But ah the spring is nearly here and you can lose weight for summer. You’ve probably put on a few extra pounds to help keep you warm during these harsh winter months. 1. Eat More Often
That’s right you read that correctly, most folks thinks this is a contrary statement with respects to losing weight. But the reality is you need to eat more often and you need to eat the right foods. Rather than noshing on greasy potato chips, have a handful of blueberries. Instead of downing a few doughnuts try an apple or a handful of almonds to satiate your palette. Keep in mind that you should eat every three hours or so, this will help keep you from feeling deprived and you’ll be less likely to gorge yourself.
2. Have More Fruit And Vegetables
Increasing your consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables is vital to proper nutritional sustenance. Fruits and vegetables help fill you up without filling you out. Apples and oranges, blueberries and banana are but a few choices you can consider. Broccoli and spinach, carrots and green beans are all loaded with vitamins and minerals. Packed with fiber as well to make you feel full longer.
3. Drink Plenty of Water
The best beverage on the planet is water and you can have as much as you want. And you should want plenty. Water keeps you hydrated and helps to flush waste from your system. Additionally on many an occasion we can mistake thirst for hunger, grabbing something to eat when in fact a glass of water would have fulfilled our needs.
4. Keep A Food Journal
Many of us would be amazed at how much we are consuming and the poor quality of our food choices. By keeping a food journal we can keep track of what we are eating and become more mindful of our food choices. And preparing a journal will allow you to chart a course to follow to meet your dietary needs.
5. Work Out
No weight loss effort is complete with out increasing physical activity. Get on the tread mill, take a walk to market rather than driving all the time. If you live in an apartment with an elevator get of one floor early and walk up one floor. When coming home from work if the weather allows get of the train or bus one stop from home and walk the rest of the way. These are but a few steps you can take to lose weight for summer.
