There are lots of ways to learn how to stop eating when bored. In fact, over 87% of overeating is a result of us having nothing better to do at that moment in time, so we resort to eating or drinking to consume our boredom or to fill in our “free time”.
Here’s the thing though... if you eat when you are bored and not when your body is truly hungry then you are consuming extra calories that will eventually lead to unwanted weight gain (if not already).
Trust me, you are definitely not alone in this struggle and pretty much everyone is guilty of eating out of pure boredom almost on a daily basis. However, if you don’t learn how to stop eating when bored and you’re actually trying to get a hold of your weight and shed a few extra pounds then you’re only climbing an uphill battle.
So how can you disassociate food from being the source of comfort and company when you are bored?
Well there are a few suggestions that I have and that I have personally used and have and success with:
