It's a night mare trying to stop eating. You are forever focused on food. Trying to think of anything else is not easy. It can become like an obsession. Every meal is a minefield, going to restaurants is a dread and friends always pull you down the wrong path. You just can't seem to get away from it.
I have been through all of those issues. I was obsessed with food and eating for about ten years. Just over a year ago I decided to investigate for myself and break free of this prison I had created for myself. I wanted to stop eating so much. I read scientific studies, medical, and nutrition books. I also read many self help and motivational books. I learned a great deal from them. Mainly I learned how to stop eating the wrong things and start eating the right things.
I needed to go through a large psychological leap. I needed to start thinking in a completely different way. It took some time and effort but the results were life changing.The changes that happened to me were amazing.

I learned from all these books and studies that the media has us focusing on the wrong things. They make us obsessed with our weight and eating that we forget the real issues. The real issue is our health. Once I started to focus on my health and doing things to improve my health the changes that occurred were amazing. So focus on health.
How to stop eating Top Tip # 2 Accept That You Must Change
I had to accept that I must change. I had to change the way I thought about food and the way I acted around it. I could not just go through a small phase of not eating and then go back to my old habits. I had to change for the long term. I had to look inside myself and accept that what I was doing was wrong and make some permanent changes.
How to stop eating Top Tip # 3 Do some light Exercise
All the books I had read on this agreed this was an essential part of stopping eating. The good news is that I didn't go to the gym or go running. All I did was go for a walk every day. I started off with fifteen minutes a day then slowly increased it to an hour each day. The benefit here was that It helped me start to focus more on my health. I felt myself getting healthier and I enjoyed that.
How to stop eating Top Tip # 4 Drink Lots Of Water
Again all the books agreed that drinking lots of water is essential. According to many of the books I read, thirst can often be interpreted as hunger. So you think you are hungry when in fact you are actually thirsty. I started drinking a pint of water with every meal and a pint between meals also. I found that I did not think about food between meals nearly as much as before. As long as I had a pint of water with a meal and at least a pint between meals I really did not think about food.
