Have you had an extra forty pounds just sort of creep up on you?
Chuck Schneider, a human resources consultant that travels around Texas multiple times a week for business, knows the feeling. A year and a half ago, he and his wife moved from St. Louis to the Lonestar state. That's when Chuck noticed his weight start to balloon a good 30 to 40 pounds. "When you move away from what you know, it's tough," says Chuck. "You don't know how good you have it till it's gone. All of a sudden, you're on your own and there are no support strings."
Chuck has battled weight fluctuations before: After college he was up to 285, before cutting down to 200 in just 8 months by going to the gym for two hours/day and, as he admits, "not eating a whole lot." Chuck was also using an Ephedra-based product that ultimately sent him to the hospital. In hindsight, he says, "It probably wasn't the healthiest way to do it."
But Chuck's ready now. With the expert advice of Craig Ballantyne, C.S.C.S., and the support of his wife (who's already lost weight and, as Chucks says, "looks great"), he's ready to chisel his body into beach-ready shape. "My a-ha moment came when I realized a large group of our friends were all going down to Mexico to celebrate our 30th birthdays. I don't want them to see me with a big ol' gut and love handles. You know what? I'm tired of being the fat guy in the group."
