When John Messamore took his "before"
pictures, he didn't realize he had that much around the middle."Looking at my pictures was a real eye opener," he says. "I always dressed well and people just thought I was a big guy." Messamore actually started the
diet while he was on the road for business -- meaning that he had to eat out for every meal. Ordering grilled fish, eggs, some protein shakes, and fruit, he was still able to see results.
"With the 12
Powerfoods, it's pretty easy to incorporate into your life, especially if you travel a lot," says Messamore, who traveled 2 out of the first 6 weeks he was on the plan.
"I think the cheat day helped. It gave me something to look forward to," he says. "As I progressed more and more, it wasn't that I wanted the cheat so much. The cheat day is a goal: I just have to make it until Saturday."
Messamore also stuck to the Abs Diet circuit -- with special attention to his often-neglected legs -- and found it a challenging way to build muscle and get his heart rate up. Toward the end of the 6 weeks, he kicked the cardio up a bit and really targeted his abs -- and, even though he had always worked out, he ended up swimming in his clothes.
"The diet is unbelievable," he says. "I gained more energy, focus, muscle, strength, confidence, professional success, and drive -- especially in the bedroom."
