South Beach Cookies

There aren't any products that are specifically South Beach cookies. The reason for this is that the South Beach diet discourages eating any forms of desserts. When you see desserts on the menu, it is made with foods that are naturally sweet. There aren't a whole lot of desserts made with sugar substitutes. Most sugar substitutes have been known to cause some very adverse health issues. Therefore, the South Beach menu stays away from them as much as possible.

However, cardiologist Dr. Arthur Agaston, the creator of the South Beach diet, knows how people can be drawn to cookies and other dessert foods. He has thus allowed a cookie or two on occasion. South Beach cookies are not allowed in any form for the first two weeks. If you think you can't do this, just take it day by day. If you can go until bedtime without having sweets, you've done well. Just keep taking it step by step and you will get through it.

South Beach Cookies and Obesity

Most people who are obese today are that way because of bad carbs. They can't stop eating desserts, breads, pasta, crackers, chips, and drinking soda. The first few days of staying away from these carbs probably won't be easy. However, it does get easier. I know. I gave up eating desserts over a year and a half ago. Since then I have had cookies on two occasions and that's all. It gets to the point where you don't even care.

As you go through the South Beach diet and stick to it, you will notice fewer cravings. When they do hit, they won't be nearly as strong. You will feel you have a choice. You will be able to say no and move on about your day. If you are at a point, though, where you just have to have sweets, eat South Beach cookies. These fit with the diet plan in that they have little to no sugar and not too much fat.
