Many dieticians recommend this diet because carbohydrates take time to burn, which in turn adds fat to the body, which leads to increase in weight. This is the reason why many individual does not take rice or any other carbohydrate concentrated food after evening, like bread or rice. They generally prefer eating salads or soup or even curd, which is easily digested. This is because, after sun down, people indulge in very less physical activity, which is required to burn the carbohydrate. Therefore the avoid carb diets in order to reduce fat and remain slim.

However, maintaining this form diet is good, since proteins are healthy, but a body requires a complete package of nutrition. Just like proteins are necessary to grow strong and remain healthy similarly, carbohydrates are also very important in diet. What people do is, in order to lose weight fast they completely cut down on the intake of carbohydrates, which in turn creates a deficiency of nutrition in the body. Since carbohydrate is a major source for the supply of protein in the body, therefore, carb free diet leaves proteins to be the only source of energy. Therefore, a problem arises, with heavy breakdown of protein to sugar, for energy supplements; it can lead to excessive formation of ketones in the liver. There have been studies, showing results such as, the people on high protein diet show symptoms of starvation regime. The symptoms include abnormal fat metabolism, break down of body protein, increased sodium excretion, loss of energy and fatigue etc.
