Step 1: Cross the Laces:
- Hold the ends of the laces, one in each hand.
- Cross the left lace over the right lace.
Step 2: Pass Through Bottom Eyelets:
- Bring the left lace up and pass it through the bottom left eyelet, forming a loop on the outside of the shoe.
- Repeat the same step with the right lace on the bottom right eyelet.
Step 3: Lace in a Straight Line:
- Continue lacing the shoes by passing each lace straight across to the opposite side, and then through the next eyelet directly above it.
- Make sure the laces are parallel to each other and not crossed.
Step 4: Finish the Lacing:
- Once you reach the top, bring the left lace through the top left eyelet and the right lace through the top right eyelet, forming loops.
- Pull both laces through the loops, tightening them to secure the shoe.
Step 5: Adjust and Tie:
- Adjust the tightness of the lace loops to your liking.
- Tie the ends of the laces in a bow or knot, or any method that suits your shoe.
This straight lacing method is simple and provides good support for regular day-to-day activities. There are other lacing patterns, such as the criss-cross lacing, heel lock lacing, and more, which offer different levels of support and tightness based on personal preference.
