Weight Loss Tip #10 – Do cardio exercises

Doing cardio exercises like running, jogging, swimming, cycling and skipping are extremely critical as they’ll help you burn calories and increase your metabolism – two important things you need to do to lose weight. Also, overweight people are more at risk for having heart disease and doing cardio exercises can help cut that risk.

In order to achieve the maximum out of your cardio, you should try and switch between high intensity and low intensity workouts. For example, run at 5 kmph for 5 minutes, then run at 8 kmph for 3 minutes, and then again run for 5 kmph for 5 minutes.

Also, you must constantly keep increasing your goals and push yourself. If you are running 2 km today, have a goal in mind to be able to run 4 km by the next fortnight. In case, you find running by your own self boring, then you could also try playing sports like football, badminton, tennis, basketball, etc. which are also good ways to burn calories.  In the gym, machines like the treadmill and the elliptical trainer can also give you a good cardio workout.

One thing you should remember is that doing cardio exercises is not an unpleasant experience that you have to do for the sake of your health. It actually releases endorphins which make you feel good about yourself.
