Drinking coffee before a workout can be an excellent way to get an extra energy out of your body’s reserves during physical activity. The fat in your body fuels your activity so you end up burning more body fat. Caffeine delays the onset of muscle fatigue, helping your body use its reserves of fat as energy. It also allows your body to save up the carbohydrates for later so that you can exercises for longer and enhance your performance. These endurance building exercises will boost your stamina.
A study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, researchers found that people who drank coffee before a workout were able to invest more energy in a workout than those who did not [1]. Coffee has been linked to reducing the levels of exertion related to physical activity.
Dosage
A cup of morning joe or an evening cup of coffee before heading the gym is okay, but 4-5 cups of latte in a day is a strict no. Drinking coffee around an hour before a workout can give you best results.
