I bet if you have any friends or family that are overweight, you've heard them talk about The Biggest Loser Show on NBC. It's a reality show about overweight people losing weight. No one thought it would take the Country, and the World, by storm. That's just what The Biggest Loser show has done. It's so wildly popular that there are versions of this TV show in many countries now.
The overweight contestants are dropped off at a California Ranch somewhere and split into two teams. Each Team has a trainer. During the next 12 weeks, the show covers how they eat, how they work out and shows their weekly weight loss.
One of the biggest reasons the show is so successful is because it gave people who were obese hope that they too could lose 70, 90 or even 100 pounds or more. This has simply amazed many people and turned them into weekly watchers as well as regulars down at the gym.
I've watched this show since season 1 and I've learned a lot about proper weight loss. Not only that, I've stuck to a routine very similar to the one on The Biggest Loser Show and I have lost over 60 pounds, from home and without a trainer!
The fist tip I learned was to drink a lot of water. I didn't know this back then, but water helps flush fat cells and toxic waste from your body plus its known to boost your metabolism. This alone will increase the numbers of calories your body burns.
Another tips I picked up by watching The Biggest Loser is to eat smaller meals more often throughout the day. Once I started doing this, my weight loss efforts really jumped up there. Just remember to adjust your portions. It's not good to eat 5 or 6 huge meals a day. Break those down into smaller, healthier meals.
Keep a food diary. I didn't realize how important this was until I actually started doing it. Not only did I see almost immediate results, it helped me keep within my target range of calories each day. This is a very important tip and one that will keep you honest about your diet.
Many people who workout to lose weight believe that any kind of workout is good for losing weight. The Biggest Loser Show taught us that you should keep your cardio workouts going longer so your body stays in its fat burning mode longer. I also learned that working out with weights was important to build muscle.
For those of you who have refused to watch The Biggest Loser show, I'd highly suggest you check it out if you're one of the Millions who need to lose weight. Their proven methods of losing weight is easy to follow and will get you into shape in no time at all.
