BAKED TURNIPS
1 pound small turnips
Butter, salt and pepper, to taste
Wash the turnips and trim off the stems and roots. Wrap securely in foil and bake at 400?for 1 hour 20 minutes or until tender. Split open and season with butter, salt, pepper and any other toppings of your choice.

I suggest removing the outer skin before eating as it's quite bitter. The inside was similar to a baked potato, but kind of watery. I topped them with Hamburger Gravy made without the cauliflower. Below is a picture of our dinner:
