BURGER-IN-A-BOWL
I came up with this idea as an easy way to get the flavor of a hamburger without the bother of grilling or the mess of pan frying. Quite often grilled or fried burgers can come out tough and dry once most of the fat has cooked out of them. By browning my ground beef in a skillet, I can control how much or how little fat I want to keep. This method would also work for turkey burgers.
1. Start by browning up as much ground beef or turkey as you'd like for several meals or servings. The amount is up to you. Season the meat as it cooks with salt, pepper and whatever spices you like. Drain off or keep as much of the fat as you like. You can also brown the meat along with some garlic and/or onions or just wait and add onions later as a topping.
2. Place a serving of ground meat in an individual-size microwaveable bowl. The serving size is up to you and your diet.
3. Now add any Hot Toppings that you'd like. The toppings can be already heated or cold from the fridge. You will be reheating them anyway.
4. Top with the cheese of your choice.
5. Microwave to heat everything well and melt the cheese.
6. Add any Cold Toppings that you like.
7. Eat and enjoy.
