BBQ BACON TURKEY BURGERS
20 ounces ground turkey, 85% lean
6 ounces bacon (6-7 slices)
1/4 cup KC Masterpiece Classic Blend barbecue sauce
Oil or bacon fat for frying
Chop the raw bacon into large pieces then process in a food processor until ground to a paste. Mix the ground bacon and the barbecue sauce into the ground turkey. Shape in 4 equal size balls. I find that it's easier to place balls of ground turkey in the hot skillet and then shape them into patties with your hands. Ground turkey is too soft to work with otherwise.
Heat a tablespoon or two of oil or fat in a very large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the patties about 5-6 minutes per side or until done to your liking. Flip them very carefully because they fall apart easily. You can top them with cheese or the condiments of your choice but I haven't included those things in the nutritional counts.

I really like these a lot and they're kind of unusual. They have the consistency of a soft burger but the flavor of bacon. Since it wouldn't be possible to make a burger out of bacon alone, the ground turkey is the perfect vehicle for creating a bacon flavored patty. The bacon also adds enough fat to the ground turkey to keep it juicy. These would also work with ground beef but the beef flavor might cover the bacon flavor a little. I didn't add any salt to mine because the bacon is salty, the ground turkey has a salt solution added to it and the barbecue sauce also has some salt in it. I think they could have used just a dash of salt but I suggest going easy on it. As you can see, these aren't much to look at but I will definitely make them again.
