DANA'S SIMPLE ALMOND CRUST
This recipe is from Dana Carpender's "The Low-Carb Barbecue Book", page 236. For copyright reasons, I cannot post this recipe. To buy Dana's book, go to Hold the Toast.
I used a slight variation of Dana's recipe in the Individual No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecakes recipe. I added a little salt because the crumbs tasted a little flat without it. Her recipe actually makes enough for two 9-inch pie crusts or 16 servings. There was way too much for one crust. You can use the crumb mixture, after baking, as you would graham cracker crumbs in recipes. I recommend browning them as directed for 10-12 minutes, stirring the crumbs after half the time for even browning. You'll get about 2 1/4 cups of crumbs from the recipe.
