Is Peanut Butter Vegan?

In general, classic peanut butter is considered a vegan food because it is made from grinding roasted peanuts and typically contains no animal-derived ingredients. The main ingredients in peanut butter are peanuts, oil (usually vegetable oil), and salt. However, some peanut butter manufacturers may add additional ingredients such as sugar, honey, or milk solids. In these cases, the peanut butter may not be vegan.

Additionally, some brands of peanut butter may be processed in facilities that also handle animal products, which can introduce the risk of cross-contamination. Therefore, if you are strictly vegan, it is important to check the ingredients list and look for products that are labeled as "vegan" or "plant-based" to ensure that they do not contain any animal-derived ingredients or have not been processed in facilities that handle animal products.
