Is Eating Your Placenta Safe?

There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that eating your placenta is safe or beneficial. In fact, there are some potential risks associated with eating your placenta, including:

- The placenta contains high levels of hormones, which can cause hormonal imbalances in women who eat it.

- The placenta can also contain bacteria and viruses that can cause infection in both the mother and the baby.

- Eating the placenta may not provide any nutritional benefits, as most of the nutrients in the placenta are absorbed by the baby during pregnancy.

- Eating the placenta may also be associated with an increased risk of postpartum depression.

For these reasons, it is not recommended to eat your placenta.
