QuestionHi
I have begun to restrict my carbs and have lost a little weight, however,I get enormous cravings for carbs in the afternoon and evening.I dont really enjoy fruits or veggies but I eat some daily to control my cravings for carbs. Is there anything ese I can snack on to replace carbs?
AnswerHi Barry,
It depends on what diet you are on. Different low carb diets limit carbohydrate intake to different degrees: from 20 g a day on Atkins induction to no quantitative limitations (only "bad" TYPE of carbs is prohibited) on South Beach diet.
A stricter limitation usually results in faster *decrease* of the cravings. On our Fat Burning Index diet, with very few exclusions, dieters get rid of carb cravings during their first week on the diet -- even if they don't lose weight. Usually, it goes along with increased energy levels.
Snack recommendations vary from diet to diet. We offer a "free" food list of several dozens foods allowed at any time, any amounts.
