QuestionHi
I don't eat vegetables and fruits, so I have a kind of problem, and it's going to catch up with me. I am 20 years old and trying to overcome this habit/problem. I have developed some alternatives to it as you will read. I eat potato chips, pumpkin cakes, all spices like ginger, chilly, garlic, salt, onions, pepper ect, and I love to cook. I eat small quantities of peas, carrots, corn in cottage pies and curry and rice dishes. I drink apple juice and that's it, beside the usual Coke, Pepsi, water, wine, beer ect. I don't drink milk but I eat breakfast cereal with milk and I eat ice creams. I eat tomato sauce/salsa, but I don't eat tomatoes.
I eat all fish, meat, chicken and exotic things like snails, mussels, shushi ect.
I don't eat peas, carrots, pumpkins, in just its pure form. I do not eat cabbage, broccoli, apples, pears, oranges, papayas, grapes ect,
I don't eat fruits and vegetables because it don't taste great./
I do take a daily vitamin pill called Centrum.
Do I have a problem and what can I do?
Please feel free to ask me some questions.
Thank you

AnswerYou certainly do face a serious health problem if you eat all these highly processed carbohydrate foods. You don't specifically need carbohydrates, anyway - whether processed or unprocessed. Just read the following 3 pages of an article on the health benefits of carbohydrate-free(vegetable-free/fruit-free) diets to see what I mean:-

Secondly, vitamin and mineral supplements are a total waste of time. They have little benefit to overall health and introduce toxic, processed substances such as gelatin(from capsules) which you don't need. You're far better off eating whole, natural foods.
Thirdly, the variety of meat/fish etc. you eat is good. It's also a very good idea to eat innards(ie liver/kidney/bone-marrow/tongue etc.) if you want to stay healthy long-term.
Fourthly, cut out all drink(ie raw or pasteurised dairy/Coke/Pepsi/fruit juice et.) except for water(preferably still mineral water). The fruit juice is useless unlss you you have just used a juicer to juice fresh, organic fruit - the fruit juice you buy in stores has always ben super-heated to preserve it for a long time, and that always destroys the natural vitamin C content. They fortify the drink with artificial vitamin C, but that's no good for you compared to the real thing.
If you're at all interested in starting a raw, palaeolithic diet I would suggest reading either Weston-Price's book "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" or Aajonus Vonderplanitz's book "The Recipe for living Without Disease" - I would suggest not following their advice re eating/drinking raw dairy as many people often find they have a latent allergy/food-intolerance to it, but the rest of their theories are very useful. If you don't understand some of the points they raise, feel free to ask me any further follow-up questions.
Hope This Helps
