QuestionHello Glen.
I would like to eat healthy because I've recently discovered that the body and
mind work together. I jog every day for 30 minutes and I eat fruits and veggie
foods, as well as a lot of fish, seafood, some chicken and carbs. I stopped
eating meat for several years and have no intentions of going back. Anyway, I
seem to have a hard time concentrating when I'm at college and I understand
that there are foods that will help me stay focused in college.
Can you please help me with a diet plan that will accomplish this?
Best regards,
Julian
AnswerFrom what I know of how foods affect the way the brain works, you should focus on lean proteins, omega 3 fatty acids and COMPLEX carbs. One thing I have started doing that helps me stay a bit more focused during classes is to carry a few individual "mixed nut" snack packs. I also drink 2-3 protein drinks throughout the day and try to eat whole grains ("dream fields" pasta is great for this) and lean proteins such as chicken and tuna. A variation of this will probably help, but don't take it to the extreme I do, I use this not only to increase focus but to also keep my muscles fueled at all times.
