AnswerHi Kerry,
The medical conclusion is: so far, there is no cure for PCOS. However, many women like yourself have found a success by lowing carbohydrate consumption because PCOS is linked to insulin resistance. Low carb dieting reduces many of their symptoms -- anovulation, hirisutism, and acne.
Artificial sweeteners raise insulin almost as the real sugar does, so if you use them, this might be the reason for your cravings.
Many low carb diets don't emphasize exercise but in your case, it's strongly encouraged. Exercise helps controlling insulin resistance. Try going for at least three or four 30-minute walks a week. Better yet, start a strength training program. It's possible to do it at home. If you need help, join a free fitness program online. I'd recommend the http://betterbodz.com
To get help in tracking your daily carbs use the http://fitday.com nutritional database.
However, if you can afford $19 something (one-time fee) you are welcome to join our Banta online plan and have all nutrition and exercises planned for your needs.
We offer the unique opportunity to follow a very low carb diet without counting the carbs, calories, or portions. It's all possible because we calculate the fat burning index of our dieters' meals. Read more about it here: http://bantadiet.com
Good luck!
