QuestionHi Geoffrey. My name is Evan. I have a few new questions. I was wondering is you have any experience drying or dehydrating meat? Or have you added dried meat to your diet since cutting out cooked meat? I have a dehydrator left over from when I was a raw vegan so I'm considering experimenting with making beef/bison jerky as a travel snack. I would be interested in hearing if you have had any good/bad experiences adding dried meat to your diet. Also if you have dried meat yourself any instructions on doing it properly would be great.
My other question is about raw dairy again. I've cut it from my diet for a few weeks now. Just recently I was reading messages on the primal diet list and I read a message where you mentioned adding raw goats milk to your diet. I was wondering what made you decide to try goats milk? Was there something you think lacking without it. Also what have been the benefits of adding dairy back to you diet. Ok Thanks in advance.
Evan
AnswerHello again Evan,
A while back you asked about my taking up raw goats' milk, given that I had alredy pointed out how many Primal dieters had had problems with raw cows' milk. I had wanted to try out milk that was closer to human milk in terms of fat content etc., as part of an experiment.
Anyway, after a month or more of trying raw goats' milk, I have decided to cut out ALL raw dairy from my diet from now on. I didn't experience any symptoms for the first few weeks(no doubt because I hadn't previously touched any raw milk for almost 3 years), but I did gradually notice an increase in my visits to the bathroom/toilet.This diarrhetic effect became very recently much, much worse as I tentatively increased my goat milk intake. I also felt some of the familiar symptoms I had with raw cows' milk, such as a slight feeling of dehydration, and an increase in lethargy. While the effects are not as bad as with raw cows' milk, I am quite certain that the raw dairy is not for me. I will be sticking to raw organ-meats for my raw fat intake from now on.The fat content of innards is higher than dairy anyway.
