Questionmy name is tasha my life is very bad i'm 18 i weight 180 pound i feel so bad about myself i don't even look in the minor whats a good diet i can go on?
AnswerDear Tasha,
I am afraid I am not a dietician and do not know much about weight-loss. I share my understandings about nutrition and healthy living. So I might not be the right one to advise you.
However, I think it might be useful, whether you consult someone else or want me to steer you in the right direction, to give a little more detail as to your current diet and indicate what you would like to change about your life. This will mean taking a closer look at yourself, but I trust that in doing so you will find at least one or two things that may not be superb but at least could be worse! It sounds a bit negative, but you have to think in "baby steps" at first.
If I were you, though, I would forget the mirror angle all together. I was no hero in the mirror at 18 either! I was very depressed about my "ugliness" and many body issues and it took tremendous efforts before things started to become better. The trick seems to lie somewhere inbetween "remembering to forget yourself": this may mean something like take special care of yourself, nurse yourself into a more balanced state, but almost without self-interest (because too much focus on self-image at this stage is pointless, since you have fallen into the habit of negative perception).
Concentrate on the things you CAN do to embellish yourself, which will mainly depend on how you feel and what you think about the world around you. Healthy eating can be very healing because it offers you an opportunity to commune with Mother Earth and the miracle of our life-force in a natural way on a daily basis. Diets are supposed to be "habits"/ways of life. Furthermore, natural products (so called health foods) are full of dynamic energy which help to boost your own energy system and can bring the sun back into your life.
Don't hesitate to ask anything else or otherwise keep browsing the Expert Site for specific diets; whatever you do appreciate those little blessings you absolutely positively do have (I just broke my foot and realise, now, handicapped and with one injury leading to many others, how I have been most unappreciative, in some ways, myself!).
Take care,
Love Evelyn.
