QuestionI have a query re the yeast-free diet I'm on for a candida infection. One of the things that are forbidden are tea and coffee and yet I'm able to drink herbal teas. The reason for the tea and coffee appears to be that mould may form during the drying process, but I figure it would be the same for herbal teas. Maybe it is because most people drink tea with milk and sugar and not herbal teas? I can drink black tea without sugar and I could drink coffee with rice milk. Do you know if that would be OK?
AnswerDear Lyn,
To answer your question in one word is 'yes' as long as you feel that it's right for you. Herbal teas may be or may be not diuretics/dehydrators but black tea and coffee definitely are. I think your problem is more on the sugar thing side and you're right in its solution. In my experience practically all dieters cutting back on carbs feel better yeast-wise.
Hope it helps,
