QuestionI had a lightly built body with little rips but recently I've been putting on weight due to a lack of exercise. The college i go to demands 100% participation so i don't have time for regular exercise, so i would like to know is there a diet i could use that has all the required nutrients but does not contain any fatty foods. if there is please send it to me also.
AnswerDear Jason,
If by "fatty foods" you mean foods containing fats, then of coures you need a one of low fat diets and I'm giving you references below.
If, however, you mean foods that shift one's metabolism toward storing the body fat thus being "fattening" - then it's a different story. It'd be a high-fat, low carb diet.
As you probably know, not all low carb diets, Atkins diet including, are high in fat and this can be their major flaw.
Tha matter is, for a food (or meal) to be "fat burning" as opposite to "fat storing," its fat content (grams) should at least 1.5 times exceed carbohydrates plus protein grams.
Beyond clinical ketogenic diet and cycling ketogenic diets used by bodybuilers, I know of only one diet designed for regular dieters and this is the Banta Diet.
You might want to read more about it and see sample menus and shopping list at http://bantadiet.com
Now, here's where to start reading about low fat diets:
