My wife can't lose any more weight is very distrought about it. She exercises 3-4 times a week for about an hour and only intake about 500 calories a day. what is she doing wrong?
Answer -
Dear Dan,
It can be too little calories that's putting her body into conservation mode or/and too much aerobics exercising if this is her choice of workout.
It can also be that she is at healthy weight for her body. Tell me more about her circumstances and I'll tell you what I think she can do including letting her try our program free of charges. We have 92% success rate, BTW!
Looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Thank you Dr. Zilberter for answering my letter.
More info about my wife, she is 5'9" and weighs about 148lbs. She is trying to just lose another 7lbs and that's all. Her exercising consists of a 45-50 minute arobic workout with light weights.
I've tried to explain to her about her body going into a "starvation mode" and it is working against her, but she doesn't really understand how that could be true, especially when youlook at someone who is anorexic.
If I could get some further advice for her on this matter would be greatly helpful.
Thank You,
Very Concerned Husband
AnswerHello Dan,
First of all, your wife's weight is perfectly normal: her BMI is 21.9 while normal weight is up to 24.9! Working against normal healthy weight is very difficult, it's like working against Mother Nature herself. However, if she has a narrow frame and her muscle mass is not heavy enough, she probably feels that her skinfolds are rather thick, is that the reason why she wants to lose the 7 pounds?
At 141 lb, her BMI would be 20.5; still not underweight.
Emphasizing the strength workout and maybe reducing aerobic exercise time while increasing intensity can help.
Another thing can be cutting down on carbohydrates for a few weeks, then adding them around doing weights can help, too.
The most important thing is - NEVER COUNT CALORIES! Hunger should always be satisfied, period. Otherwise, the starvation mode is here to stay.
To control unhealthy hunger, the best way is to reduce carbohydrates and eat plenty of healthy oils with bulky salads consisting of dark green veggies, boiled eggs, chicken meats, or tuna, or broiled salmon, etc.
The bottom line is: when one stalls, something should be changed. The above suggestions are about changes. If you guys need more structured plan, remember my offer to try our diet for as long as you wish.
