Question
I'm doing a project for my 12th grade English class. It is about "our burning questions." We are going to make an encyclopedia with all my fellow students' questions and answers from experts. My question is Instead of eating food is there a way to take a pill, or pills (can be a large amount), that will keep you alive and healthy for at least three weeks?

Answer
You will be surprised but just drinking enough water can keep you alive for even more than three weeks. Mother Nature created good tools for living creatures for the rainy days: fat depots as well as the possibility to live on muscle tissues when the fat stores are empty. If, however, you are talking about getting all nessesary nutrients, that's a completely different story. In this respect, there's no magic pill. Researchers often get surprised that seemingly same chemical content in pills (e.g., vitamins or minerals) and in foods has different effect on the body.

Hope it helps,
