QuestionHi Tanya,
I hope you can help me or lead me in the right direction. I am a 34 year old female who weighs approx 119 pounds and am 1.68 tall. I go to the gym 3 times a week for one hour sessions and have dogs that I walk 2 times a day. I don't really want to lose any weight but was wondering if, through following a GI diet it would help reduce the 'fat' on my problem areas such as the stomach, hips and thighs?
I have been reading up on some recipies for a GI diet and have to say that I am getting a bit confused as to what I should and shouldn't be eating. I would like to aim for consumption of 50 grams per day. Do you have any recipe suggestions for a 7 day plan - Breakfast, lunch and dinner? I live in Southern Spain so in all probablilty I wouldn't be able to find some of the products you list on your website.
Many thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

AnswerDear Victoria,
The stomach area is the only part of the body that can locally respond to diet changes. The GI approach doesn't sound good enough for this purpose. You should be watching not glycemic index (this is simple) but glycemic load - not only how fast carbohydrates gets into your blood stream but also how many of them.
As a diet developer, I naturally prefer our approach that takes into account precise ratios of carb+protein to fat. We do have weekly plans and meals and recipes. Our program is online and is free. Why wouldn't you take a look? the URL is http://bantadiet.com
