Hi am 13 my name is Ryan and i weigh a little less then 115. I would like to know a good specific diet i can follow to lose weight around my belly and abs. please be specific.

P.S. I have just recently (2 weeks) stopped completly drinking soda.

Dear Ryan,

You are growing so your body weight can be completely OK, depending on your current height. However, it's good for you to start paying attention to healthy eating. Here are a few tips on what to eat, what to avoid, and what to do -  for a boy of your age.

Eat more of these:

- Salads of dark green leafy veggies with olive oil-based dressings

- Oats: choose not rolled but whole-grain or steel-cut ones

- Lean protein like chicken or turkey breast, tuna (canned is OK) or any fish and seafood you can stand

- Fruits instead of drinking too much juices

To fight weight around your abs, cut down on these foods:

- Sugar ans sweets
- White bread
- Pastas
- Potato
- Junk food like chips

Of course, you should exercise - play sports games, swim, run, rope-jump, etc. Plus, just move around more and sit in front of TV and computer less.
