QuestionHello, there! I am so thankful to have finally found an expert I can discuss my concerns with! You see, I am a very healthy, active young woman who wants to gain a little weight. I am 5'6'' and weight 115 lbs. I am in excellent physical shape as far as endurance and muscle tone go. What I am looking for is a bit more in the "curve" department. I miss my more womanly attributes (mainly my chest, hips, and buttocks) that I had prior to becoming so fit. Are there certain foods that I should eat in order to gain what I assume would be fat in these areas? I want to avoid gaining pudge in my middle section, as this is where I tend to put weight on first. Please help! I would appreciate any advice you have!
AnswerWell, there's not much you can do to gain or lose weight in specific areas. Gaining a little weight isn't a bad idea, though-at 115, you are borderline underweight, which can put you at risk for several health problems and severely depress your immune system.
Foods for weight gain-boy, where do I start??? Of course, you want to stay healthy, so please stay away from fast foods and packaged baked items like cookies, because they're loaded with trans fats. The best foods for you are going to be simple carbohydrates-think white bread, pasta, potatos, corn, and peas.
You can also talk to your doctor about birth control pills-many women gain about 3-5 pounds, and it's generally in the breasts and hips.
Good luck!
