QuestionGood Evening,
Im eighteen years old, female, 5'10, 166 lbs, I go bicycling an hour in the morning, I play tennis two hours at night. I'm a vegetarian and eat things such as boca burgers, veggie dots, fruits, some nuts, and other low calorie foods. I eat between 1200-1500 calories a day. I weighed about 240 lbs a few years ago and lost the weight very unhealthy by not eating, exercising 5 hours a day, and laxatives. I'm trying to lose another 20-30 lbs as healthy as possible but I'm actually gaining weight. Its very depressing and I don't know whats going on with my body. I would GREATLY appreciate any input you may have. I want to lose weight the right way and keep it off but I'm beginning to feel like I can't. I'm obsessed and very afraid I will go back to my old ways. Please help!
AnswerDear Kim,
Consider this. For your age, gender, height, and weight, the resting metabolic rate is 1597 Calories per day, this is just to support your breathing, heart beating, etc. Even sitting up in the bed will increase your calorie needs above this level leave along exercising. So, it's likely that you miscalculate your calorie intake.
