QuestionOkay, here is what you wanted to know:
I am 38 yrs old.
5.6'tall
I have weighed between 151 to 171, flucuating between the two.
When I did the atkin's diet faithfully I did loose like 2 lbs per week.
I haven't done the low calorie diet until now. I have been on it for 20 days and lost like 4 lbs so far, but I cheated a little here and there, but when I did it for the first two weeks a while back I had lost 7 lbs with no cheating if that helps you any.
So now here is what I usually eat in a day.
Kashi go-lean cereal and 1% milk which is 165 cal.
1 apple which is 80 cal.
lean quisine which can range from 200 to 350
vegs and dip which is around 65 cal.
snack 100 cal.
3 to 4 oz peice of meat which I keep it to 160 or 200 cal.
salad with light dressing which is around 75 cal.
vegtable which is 60 to 90 cal.
so that is my week of what I usually eat, so all in all it's probably around 900 to 1100 per day give and take.
For drinks I have diet sodas, or flavored water, and reg. water.
AnswerJoleen,
Your diet looks pretty good, except that eating too few calories can acutally "shock" your metabolism into increasing its efficiency-meaning that your body will burn up to 20% fewer calories than it did previously. That starts to happen when you average below about 1,200 calories, so I would strongly recommend that you ALWAYS eat at least 1,200 calories.
You will not gain weight by switching back to Atkins. However, you won't see any fast weight loss, either. The reason people lose weight very quickly on Induction is for the first time in years, they aren't eating sugary garbage at every meal. If you look over your diet, you are already doing a fantastic job at avoiding added sugars and processed carbohydrates that cause fat gain (though some of those Lean Cuisines are a lot healthier than others-the pizza is a nightmare. If you are missing meat, then you already need to add 100 or 200 calories every day, so you should be able to work that in.
The ultimate goal of any diet is to find a pattern of eating that allows you to maintain a healthy weight AND be happy and satisfied. You're already at a healthy weight (your weight should be between 125 and 170 pounds)-so you need to settle on a personal nutrition plan that will keep you at a constant weight, since repeatedly gaining and losing any more than 5 pounds is actually WORSE for your health than being 50 pounds overweight!
So add in an extra daily hot dog or something, and commit to being healthy for life!
Melissa
p.s. I hate to be a nag, but don't forget to exercise.
