QuestionArlene
On my fourth week of low carbs, and starting to notice some changes.
Do you think they could be related to the diet?
Positive:
-My body odour and sweating has decreased/improved.
-my bowel movements are better
Negative:
The past five days I have been feeling weak and run down with sore joints and muscles. It may be the flu but the symptoms are not like what is going around.Just today I am coming out of it.
AnswerHello, again.
I think you are right about the odor/sweatiing. Or at least I do know that your chemistry changes. Some people find it an improvement, others find it not good. When low carbing, you miss out on fiber so people sometimes get constipated, but it looks like you are not having that problem. On the other hand, biology being what it is, having way too little fiber can also give you diarhea (I never know how to spell that). So, as usual, we are left to work out whether adding or cutting back on fiber is the fix. It looks like you have lucked out this way and things are "coming out fine ;- )".
This letter, where you are experiencing more changes, makes me wonder if inadvertently you have moved into a deeper level of low carbing, where your body actually makes big switches in how it runs itself. If that is the case, then your muscle/joint aches, run down, etc. may be the result of this change and will subside. And be replaced by a very good, high energy feeling. Hope this is what is happening.
