It's perfectly OK to exercise while breastfeeding your baby -- unless your exercise intensity is too high and can cause lactic acid build-up in your blood or milk.
This intensities can be defined as going above anaerobic threshold (the point at which your muscles start working without oxygen.) To estimate how hard you should push yourself: it the pace you could be working out for an hour.
If you should stop doing your exercise sooner, you probably has too much lactic acid in your blood. It's not necessarily harmful for your baby, but it can change the taste of your milk and the baby might refuse to suck.

AnswerFor this, you should consult with your OB/GYN. If your body's completely recovered after birth, you can gradually reach your pre-pregnancy activities.
As to losing weight while breastfeeding, sometimes it happens naturally but sometimes, Moms need to be patient. It all depends on your body.
