QuestionHello,
I am currently eating 900 kcal a day, i am making sure that i am getting a minimum of 30 grams of fiber a day. I am an avid gym goer, and expend atleast 500 kcal a day at the gym. According to my B.M.R. my body is expending 2600 kcals a day. I was wondering if i was taking a good approach to weight loss. I have been keeping this routine for the last month, and have lost 13 pounds.
AnswerHi Jose,
You do have a very significant negative energy balance and it can start influencing your gym performance and cause muscle mass loss. Also, there's such a thing as energy flux and research showed that it has to be high enough in the long run -- meaning you HAVE to consume more even if it makes you spending more. Otherwise you hit weight loss plateau.
Different name, same concept: eat more, exercise more.
