QuestionAge 49
1500-2000 cals/day no junk
No medical conditions
My health is OK but I have always been overweight, even though I am a light eater, especially in the abdomen.I suffer from a lot of gas and bloating, tire easily, and have sore stiff muscles.
I had a recent comprhensive medical which ruled out diabetes, but my doctor was willing to admit I could be insulin resistant.
What do you think?
I am going to try a low glycemic diet, and 30 minutes of pedaling my stationary bike after supper.
AnswerBarry,
A low glycemic diet would probably be very appropriate. If fat loss is your goal, then rather than 30 minutes every day, exercising 45 minutes five days a week will give better results.
If you have a lot of gas and bloating, then you may be intolerant to something in your diet. Common offenders are wheat, eggs, dairy (lactose), and soy. If you want to figure out what it is, then you'll need to give up one food category at a time. Depending on the problem, it can take a week or two for your symptoms to improve, so you'll need to avoid each food for a few weeks to be sure.
Good luck!
