AnswerHi, Amy,
First, congratulations on your weight loss. Good going!
Well, since you loved Weight Watchers before, my first instinct is to advise you to go to Weight Watchers. I assume that you loved it since you lost weight using it. Otherwise if you don't want to exactly just do that, I can offer two other suggestions.
For foods that you love, you have to make adjustments and decide that the pleasure-return is worth the carb-cost so that you can continue low carbing. Then, you cut carbs elsewhere in your day. For example, I know it's hard to give up cereal. But fruit and yogurt can be managed okay. Berries and cream are yummy for breakfast. Apple slices and peanut butter. You just have to watch how much of the lower sugar fruits you eat (unless you are being really strict) and try to add fat when you do eat them to slow down your digestion of the sugars. For breakfast "cereal" you can substitute a low carb muffin made with almond flour (very tasty) or even have a low carb cupcake if you feel like a sweet breakfast (I eat the ones sold by my company, Maine Cottage Foods, of course). As for yogurt, eat the fatted plain type and add sugar free sweetener, honey or berries to it. This kind of thing is the rule for any diet - if there is a small number of foods you just cannot do without since it's too much of a bummer, then adjust them and/or limit their portions so you can fit them in. There will be a "cost", but it's manageable and is better than dumping a diet that is working for you.
Alternatively, I am sure that Weight Watchers can be tweaked to be less carby. If you go back, tell them you would like to incorporate some low carb approaches. I am sure that they will be able to address your needs and that you won't be the only person in Weight Watchers with this issue. If you do start gaining weight, then you can tweak it even more lower carb and I am sure they will be able to help you. They are a respectable company and really should be up to it.
Remember, Amy, how you eat is your decision and that it is okay to change as long as you are using your head to think beforehand. Don't be afraid to be flexible, but I do suggest that you don't "change" more than 3 times a year since many diets take time to learn and get good at.
Whatever you decision, I send you wishes for success with your weight loss.
Sincerely, Arlene
