Question Tanya
I recently stopped eating all dairy products.
This was prompted by a bad case of gas and bloating after eating just a small bowl of ice cream.
I am 50 and have had bloating, gas, and an inability to lose weight for years.I dont eat a lot and I exercise.I have always put lots of milk in my tea and coffee and I enjoy cheese-especially during the holidays.
Its only been two weeks of no dairy, but those issues are gone and I have lost a pound.
Your thoughts on this appreciated.
BTW,I just read in the paper about how post menopausal woman that eat soy have less abdominal fat.I'm not a woman but I am switching to soy milk!
AnswerHi Bud,
Am I right that your question if a follow up to this one:

I'm glad you've found the reason for your bloating. Still, if the abdominal fat is the issue as well, I thing that watching your carbohydrates will do you good, too.
Your BTW regarding soy supports my guess: soy somewhat fixes the hormonal imbalance that causes body fat redistribution after menopause. However, since you don't seem to have THIS kind of imbalance, soy may fail helping you while carbohydrate restriction definitely will.
