QuestionHi
I'm not overweight. I think my BMI is something like 20. something, I can't remember the exact number. However I would like to lose about 10lbs. I can't be sure of my exact weight just now because I'm on my period, but I'm just under 5"5 and would like to be about 8st-8st 3lbs. I don't really want to put myself on a diet. I have a pretty healthy, pretty sensible approach when it comes to eating. I just find it difficult to encorporate exercise into my life. I have a mini-trampoline but when I use it I find I don't really lose any weight, no matter how long I use it! I've just started doing a little strength training (like crunches, back presses and using 3lb hand weights). I was also wanting to ask - can drinking a lot of water result to weight loss? After my period, I like to flush my system of all the sugary rubbish I consumed through PMS but I was wondering whether drinking a lot of the good stuff would remove excess weight from your frame?
Thanks.
AnswerIf your bmi is 20 you are at the LOW end of normal weight. I would not recommend losing 10 pounds, you are already at a good weight. Drinking lots of water results in lower water retention (which would seem like weight loss on the scale). Drinking 2-3 liters a day is the recommended amount (no more or less). I hope this helps, if you have a follow up question I'd be glad to advise.
