QuestionQUESTION: Hi, I am a girl, 14. My height is foot 6 and my weight is roughly around 120Ibs. Is there any diet that I can lose weight healthy? As in, I don't want to become thin skin and look like a skeleton but instead I want my body to look toned. And on the issue of toning, how do you tone the the abdomen and the arms without chunky muscles?
ANSWER: Penelope,
At your weight and height, you DO NOT need to worry about weight loss! You are at a (low) healthy weight. In regards to toning that comes with exercise. To get long lean muscles use light weights, do crunches. If you can, try yoga! Yoga is the best exercise for toning. "Chunky" muscles come from lifting very heavy weights, so just avoid that.
I hope I have helped, let me know if you have a follow up question.
Good luck!

QUESTION: Sorry, I am actually 5foot 6, made an error typing. So just want to check whether the weight thing is still relevant if my height is actually 5foot6(In cm thats 10cm difference). Also, how can diet also help to get long lean muscles?
Thanks.
AnswerAt 5 foot 6 it is still very normal, look here: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
you are at the LOWEST end of the spectrum, lower would be unhealthy so please do not worry about losing weight.
For toning diet can help. Eating healthy foods, see this chart: http://www.cnn.com/FOOD/news/9903/25/child.food.pyramid/child.food.pyramid.jpg. Whole grains, lots of fruit and vegetable and skim milk. Less candy, chips and processed food (like frozen meals and prepackaged cheese slices)
Good luck!
