AnswerDear James,
Thank you for your question.
First things first, I strongly suggest that you have an honest conversation with your physician about a weight-loss plan. He or she may be able to recommend a good nutritionist and perhaps an exercise routine you will be able to follow easily.
What worked for me and many others is counting calories and consistent exercise. After I read Sally Squires' "Secrets of the Lean Plate Club," I learned exactly what my daily targets should be. As she recommended, I used an online journal to keep track of every bit of food I consume, taking care to enter all the calories, fiber, fat, sodium carbohydrates, protein and water intake. I recommend joining a free online journaling/calorie counter service such as http://my-calorie-counter.com where you can track all those elements as well as your exercise and daily activity.
It's amazing how seeing your intake can really make a difference in your choices.
My-calorie-counter.com asks you to take your measurements and calculate your body fat percentages. I recommend doing that once a week while you're on your calorie-counting and exercise plan. It's rewarding to see results when you keep to it.
Start small and definitely invest in Squires' book. It helped me lose quite a bit of weight in a reasonable amount of time. Her guidance is easy to follow, and I didn't feel deprived in the least.
About breast size, when I exercise and count calories, especially training with weights, I notice a change in size. However, I also notice a change in my entire body, especially my waist. This is where taking your measurements each week is important.
As far as a tonic, I don't have one to recommend because my experience has been that when I alter my diet to include more fiber (even a small handful of almonds a day), regular meals, and much more water, I'm a lot less hungry for a lot longer periods.
I hope this helps you, and I wish you the best of luck in your efforts.
