QuestionThank you for your response to my previous question about consuming the thyroid and adrenal glands. Sorry if there was some confusion on my question but I did not mean to imply that frozen was more expense, rather it is the fresh that would be more costly for me as I would have to get that shipped to me on a weekly basis to consume it fresh. Where as frozen could be shipped in bulk and I could thaw and consume it as needed.
My follow-up question is how much would you recommend consuming of raw/fresh thyroid gland a daily basis? I know you referenced how much you take in the freeze dried capsule form but I'm able to get it raw/fresh through North Star Bison along with the adrenal glands.
Thanks,
-M
AnswerI really don't know what amounts of thyroid to recommend. Others go in for higher amounts such as 300mg or as little as 10mg each day. I have no choice re my own 30mg product as I can't get raw thyroid from UK farm. I can only suggest that you experiment. I would assume that it's certainly not necessary to have more than 300mg a day, so just eat 1 thyroid every so often, see how much it weighs, and eat it often enough that you're just effectively eating an average of 300mg a day.
All I've heard is extremely vague anecodotal reports re side-effects from eating raw adrenal gland, but I'm a bit dubious re this claim, IMO.
I don't think it's the end of the world if you buy frozen. It would be best if the raw thyroid was only freze-dried as opposed to slowly frozen. But agin, you do need to experiment, as you may find subtle differences betwen the two.
