About Protein in Your Metaphysics?

Question
My question may not seem so geared toward you because I
really wanted to know simply how much of a complement of
grains is needed to go with a vegan source of protein like
beans. But I am interested in what you have to say about
this issue.  Please tell me from what you understand, what
is a good complement as far as life forces and such for
basic beans, perhaps black beans?  What are combinations
you recommend, because I would like beans to be a staple in
my diet.  And I'm going to go completely vegan (I am giving
up kefir I've been making myself with my own grains) except
that I will still allow myself some cod liver oil because I
can't afford the ocean algae to get the Omega 3s (it's not
popular here in the US yet.)

Answer
Dear Jason,

From a metaphysical/Anthroposophical point of view pulses are not highly recommended, especially not in a diet which has been chosen to enhance spiritual development. Pythagoras already warned against their earth-binding energy. Steiner simply saw it in terms of beans dulling the potential for understanding maths. This would refer to a comprehensive understanding of the human potential to be co-creative with the help of a sense of numerical principles. It does not mean you can't add up if you eat beans. It is best likened to understanding cosmic harmonies.

Beans are full of astrality, as their formation, and morphology can show us quite clearly. The kidney bean even imitates the flesh in its shape and colour. The soya bean is almost toxic and needs, therefore , extensive preparation. The peanut has very dark propensities, wishing to grow underground. The fact that they are all nitrogen lovers and are from the leguminosa family all has bearing on this topic.

Vegetarians tend to become less fond of consuming beans with age. They simply become rather heavy fare on the more refined body. A vegan is generally advised not to eat beans too often, let alone on a daily basis! So, please do some more research before you turn beans into a staple food. The complementing of beans is a matter of complementing their protein to make Complete Protein. The intake of grains need not be in the same meal. The amount should outweight the beans by 3:1 at least.

The Omega 3 story when it comes to fish oil has a catch: beware of heavy metal poisoning. Flax seed oil contains more omega 3 than fish oil. Kiwi fruit and purslane are good omega sources. If you want to think about any supplement, consider B12 especially. Without any eggs or dairy you will soon get a deficiency which is not to be underestimated.

There is no life force in fish oil. Fats are energetically neutral and only contribute in calories. So if you are interested in a high life-force diet you will have to approach it from a different angle.

Do try to eat as much seaweed as you can find, though, you need iodine, especially if you don't use processed (dead) kitchen salt.  Dried it is not that expensive at large healthfood stores (or Japanese stores)and more honest and nutritious than in booster cocktails or tablet concoctions. All supplements point to a physical imbalance or insufficiency in your diet which had rather be addressed.

I hope your motivations for your choice of diet are divinely inspired. I wish you many joyous meals.
Evelyn.
