Questionhi jenny,
i am interested in learning more about a vegan detox program. i am not interested in transitioning completely to a vegan diet, however i am looking to cleanse in a healthy way (no pills, etc) and possibly incorporating some of these new things to my lifestyle. do you have any suggestions or resources (websites/books) that you would recommend to me so i can do more research? i am in very good health, exercise daily and eat fairly healthy already.
thank you!
AnswerHello Jody-
Detoxing is best done on a plant based diet or liquid fast. One that is very basic consists of vegan food for one week, raw food for one week, and then one week of blended foods and juices- This totals 21 days and allows all the major organs of the body to begin eliminating. Depending on how in depth you want to go there are specific cleanses for gall bladder, liver, kidneys, digestive, etc. There is a very good 5 day liver and gall bladder flush that is a liquid diet with adjoining supplements for 5 days and then on the last day you fast and drink a specified mixture of liquids to remove gall stones and clean out the liver. There are a few varieties and several books that touch on the subject depending on your desired outcome. Dr David Jubb has a great gall bladder/liver flush in his book Lifefood Recipe Book. If you would like any more detailed information on the above or additional assistance in the form of coaching/food during a cleanse feel free to e-mail me at
