QuestionGood morning everyone. I am new to this forum. Is there a recommended/max amount of raw eggs to incorporate into ones diet?
AnswerWell, on an RPD diet, people are generally discouraged from eating vast amounts of raw eggs every day. Some are concerned about the antinutrient, avidin, which is present in egg-whites, though others point to data which claims that avidin only becomes a problem if one is consuming 24 or more raw eggs every day.
Aajonus Vonderplanitz, the raw-meat-guru, has stated that raw eggs can provide a quick energy-boost but that they are not as good for rebuilding the body as raw meats are. I tend to agree, given mine and others' experiences on this raw diet.
Another point is that eggs, nowadays, are only able to be mass-produced because the farmers insist on feeding their birds with masses of grains - in palaeo times eggs from wild birds would have been much rarer a find as wild birds only lay seasonally not throughout the year like grainfed birds, and they would have been less accessible in the time before agriculture/domestication.Grains are valso ery unhealthy in such huge amounts for these birds so that it is best to only eat raw eggs from pastured birds, if possible, and greatly limit consumption of standard raw grainfed eggs, however organic.
