QuestionHi,
First of all I'll give you my information: I am a 26 year old female. I'm 5'7 1/2 and I currently weigh 199 lbs. (finally got below the 200 lb mark!).
I have 2 children, one is 8 months and the other is 6 years. They are on entirely different schedules. I'm generally going from 7 AM to 12 or later at night. I have spent over half of my life trying to lose weight. Ive lost, I've gained. I've been 240 lbs and I've been 175 lbs. Right now I really want to lose weight. At least 40 lbs. And I feel like I've tried so hard.
I do not eat much. Generally I eat once, maybe twice a day. Due to being so busy and I usually don't feel that hungry. I realize that in the past my biggest problem was soft drinks. I was drinking SEVERAL a day. Well for the past few weeks i've been drinking a lot more water and limiting myself to no more than 2 a day (I won't lie, some days I do great, other days I do drink 2). I don't snack a lot and when I have meals they are not big meals. I generally use my 6 year olds plates to ensure that. But I'm not losing weight. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I don't know how to find time to exercise with my kids. And I dont know why it is that I can't seem to lose any weight considering I'm NOT eating that many calories. Please, any advice would be so great. Thank you.
AnswerAshley,
I can tell you exactly why you are not losing weight, your body is in a constant starvation mode. The body needs six small meals a day, breakfast being the most important to keep metabolism high and weight to start coming off.
Start with 3 meals, then 4 and so on. Eventually it will fell normal. Please trust me and try it, it will make a huge difference (I imagine you have low energy as well?). Change does take time, so don't expect huge loses on the scale immediately. Patience is key. Typical weight loss day example:
B: 1 cup cereal, 3/4 cup milk, 1 fruit
S: 1 cup yogurt
L: 1/2 bagel, mini can of tuna
S: carrot sticks, 10 almonds
D: smaller than baseball (3/4 cup) potatoe, rice or pasta. palm size meat. as many veggies as you want.
S: 2 cups popcorn OR a fruit
Also drinking pop a person will not lose weight, I would really recommend you work on cutting it out completely. Don't worry so much about the exercise for now, weight loss is 80% what you eat and I am sure you spend a lot of time running around after your kids.
