Question
i have read that the way to eat raw meat/fat is to cut it up
into small pieces, chew each piece a little, then swallow the piece
whole. our bodies can handle these pieces just fine. is this
true ? how do you eat tougher cuts of raw meat, like roasts, and the
fat and connective tissues, which i definitely can not chew ?

Answer
Well, actually, I have happily eaten, at times, all kinds of raw meats and only ever had a problem eating raw lung which I had to chew quite a long time before swallowing. I happily eat things like raw muscle-meat fat and, sometimes, I even happily tear off chunks from a wild hare carcass with my teeth. The thing is, most RVAFers find, after a bit of experimentation, that they don't really need to chew their raw meats more than a split-second or so, before swallowing them. I do think that chewing is very important for eating any cooked foods, just not for raw meats so much.
